July 16 – Three Blessed Years

You know how sometimes you look back and think “man, it cannot have been ___ years! They went so fast!” I think I often feel that way. This year I don’t feel that way though. Three years seems accurate, just the right amount of time. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s a fruit of trying to live more presently. Maybe it’s because our 3 years in North Dakota are up and it seems like a natural time to transition into a new chapter. I’m not sure! Regardless, we are experiencing an abundance of peace. Sure, things are a bit chaotic right now trying to wrap up the loose ends with my job and getting ready to move…but still there’s peace. Last night Josh and I were talking about how he is going to take off work for the day that the movers come to our apartment and I said, “Thank goodness you’ll be home…right after the youth conference and with all that’s going on, we’re going to need each other!” I’m so thankful for my spouse, and knowing that we’re better when we’re by each others’ side.

Here’s to many more years of deep friendship, laughter, joy, and peace amid the chaos of family life! Come what may, my dear. Including, but not limited to, this little bundle of joy.
